Year End Review - 2022

Connecting dots looking backward ...

This year has been a crazy rollercoaster ride. Very less ups and a lot of downs, the year began with mourning the loss of my father, and I am fortunate and grateful that at least the year is ending on a positive note.

I learnt that life goes on, I kept visiting The Prophet which gave me a deeper perspective on different aspects of life:

Death

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?

Giving

You often say, “I would give, but only to the deserving.”
The trees in your orchard say not so, nor the flocks in your pasture.
They give that they may live, for to withhold is to perish.
Surely he who is worthy to receive his days and his nights, is worthy of all else from you.

Love

When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,

Marriage

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.

I met a lot of beautiful people and visited some amazing landscapes, I have nothing but gratitude for the things that I was able to do. For the past few years, there have been enough bad experiences so I am going to pen down the good things that happened to me.

Nothing but the 'Good'

  • I welcomed this beautiful soul in my life, Shabnam as my Shariq-e-Hayat 👰

  • We were blessed to have a very fulfilling marriage ceremony surrounded by our family and friends. 👫

  • I happened to get into Core Contributor Program.💻

  • We were able to attend a bunch of conferences this year in person.🎉

  • We participated in Devil's Circuit and we will be doing that again this year.🏃

  • We moved into a new house and we were able to fill it with love and warmth.🏡

  • I took some beginner level surfing classes. 🏄

  • We started learning to drive a car.🚗

I am probably missing a lot of things.

I hope I will have more things to add to the list. May this comming year brings more sanity, love and prosperity to the world and our lifes.

Till then Happy Hacking!
